Why is KTM’s RC8R so loved by the U.S. Superbike racing scene? Perhaps one of the reasons was provided in the assessment last year by the German magazine Fast Bike: “Because it’s a powerful V-Twin, orange-black like a Harley and sounds like a NASCAR.” Anyway, in America the KTM/HMC-team headed by Mitch Hansen on behalf of KTM North America is at the forefront of Superbike action. The rider is Chris Fillmore, who last year had Stefan Nebel as teammate and for the 2013 season Taylor Knapp has been selected as the second rider.
Fillmore, 26 years young and from Oxford, Michigan, raced supermoto on KTM’s a couple of years before a victorious interlude in the Harley-cup. Now Fillmore starts his third season with the RC8R Superbike in the U.S. series. Fillmore not just shines as a full throttle artist, but also wants to get his message across as an athlete. So in 2013 he will produce a series of videos about his racing life and his experiences, in collaboration with New York agency Eyeball. The entertaining appetizer/trailer we show here:
